Brooklyn Paper is reporting that the city is weighing a plan to relocate or altogether remove the Atlantic Avenue on-ramp which bisects Van Voorhees Park on Columbia Street. The $1.9 billion dollar repair of the BQE between Atlantic and Sands could begin as early as 2019. While the Transportation Department weighs their options for accommodating the traffic flow during construction, they may take the opportunity to join the North and South sides of the park to eliminate one of the most dangerous on-ramps in New York.
